I provide therapy services to individuals and families.

Are you experiencing any of these symptoms?

  • Anxiety

Anxiety can rob you of your peace. You can often feel worried about various things and/or events. Your anxiety can manifest into physical symptoms such as finding it hard to breathe, being nervous, sweating or fidgeting. These symptoms can be difficult to manage and get in the way of living life the way you want to. Therapy can help give you the tools to alleviate your anxiety and find peace again.

  • Depression

Depression can feel like a dark cloud looming over you. It can feel difficult to feel motivated and happy. Going to therapy to help with depressive symptoms can help you strengthen relationships, set appropriate boundaries with others, let go of negative thoughts and above all find joy again.

  • Trauma

Trauma can be one-time, multiple or long-lasting events that affects everyone differently. A range of many emotions may occur due to distressing events that often times can become overwhelming. If you find yourself unable to move on from these events, therapy can be the first step in regaining emotional balance and healing from these events.

  • Life Transitions

Change can be hard and overwhelming. Even though change is a constant in all of our lives, learning and growing through them can be difficult. In therapy, I create a safe space for you to be honest about what you are going through and feel seen and heard. Therapy can provide the support needed help to reduce anxiety, stress and ease the adjustment into these transitions.

  • Cultural Issues/Generational Trauma

Generational trauma is trauma that is passed down from generation to generation. Some examples of issues surrounding generational trauma include stress, setting boundaries, issues with communication skills, anxiety that caregivers may have passed down, feelings of guilt and shame. Therapy can be the first step to breaking toxic cycles.

Types of Therapy Offered:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR is a proven, highly effective trauma therapy for treating symptoms such as anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD and obsessions. During bilateral stimulation a person recalls a memory that causes distress and reprocesses that memory in a way that allows the memory to become neural or positive. I often utilize an example of a car accident to help explain the EMDR process. If a person who got into a car accident is now afraid of driving in a car, the client would recall the memory of the car accident, all the negative thoughts and feelings associated with that memory, and after bilateral stimulation the client would eventually feel neural and no longer negatively affected by the memory and be able to drive a car again. EMDR can be affective quickly however the amount of time in therapy using EMDR is different for anyone depending on many factors.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT focuses on challenging negative thoughts with more accurate thoughts. Perceptions of daily events and past memories can influence feelings and behaviors. CBT helps you look for evidence that supports or does not support their thoughts and help modify thoughts and beliefs.

  • Parts and Memory Therapy

Parts and memory therapy starts by acknowledging that there are multiple parts of us, a sad part, a happy part, an angry part etc. and parts of us that hold specific memories. In this type of therapy we find the parts that carry the painful memories and neutralize those memories to heal that part and those memories
