Frequently Asked Questions
-
How can therapy help me?
Undoubtedly life has various challenges that everyone has to go through. A therapist can assist you in identifying any issues, any barriers or patterns that are stopping you from finding happiness. A therapist can be an added support and create a safe place where you can reflect and process without judgement. This ultimately leads to healing if you are ready and open to change. I offer both in-person, and telehealth therapy.

-
What is your cancellation policy?
It is important to attend therapy sessions regularly in order to for treatment to be effective and to minimize cancellations unless necessary. Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. I require a 24 hour notice of cancellation in order to avoid full charge for the session.

How often do I need to come to therapy?
Since everyone’s journey is so different, it is hard to say how long someone will need to be in therapy for. Some people have been in therapy with me for as short as 6 months and others two years. Your therapy journey is different from anyone else’s. My goal for everyone is to work towards their goals and once there is consistent progress decrease sessions as appropriate. My goal is never to keep anyone longer than they need to be in therapy for. All of my clients start out as weekly sessions and then decrease down to biweekly and eventually monthly once there is progress and it is appropriate to do so.

-
What populations do you not specialize in?
I do not specialize in couples counseling, clients who are experiencing eating disorders, or clients that have been diagnosed with a personality disorder.
-
Do you take my insurance?
Currently I accept United Healthcare, Optum, UMR, Cigna (Evernorth), and Aetna Insurance.

What if you don’t take my insurance? Can I still see you?
Yes. If I do not take your insurance, cash pay is always an option. If I don't accept your insurance, I can help submit out of network claims using Mentaya a platform that helps clients get money back for therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed for your therapy sessions. Ask me about this option.
