Are you tired of feeling controlled by your past — especially during major life transitions?
You may look functional on the outside, but internally feel stuck — replaying old experiences, blaming yourself, or getting triggered in ways you don’t fully understand. Time hasn’t healed what happened, and insight alone hasn’t created real change.
If you grew up with childhood trauma, and or unhealthy family dynamics, you may still carry guilt, shame, or patterns that affect your relationships today. These patterns often resurface during life transitions — career changes, relationships, parenthood, loss, or stepping into new roles. Maybe you struggle to communicate your needs, set boundaries without fear, or stop repeating generational cycles.
I specialize in helping growth-oriented adults actively process unresolved childhood and intergenerational trauma — especially when life transitions bring old patterns to the surface — using EMDR therapy. Together, we work to reduce triggers, release shame, and shift out of survival mode so you can live more fully in the present.
This isn’t just about coping. It’s about healing at the root — so you can build healthier relationships and create a different legacy moving forward.
If you’re ready to do the work with openness and commitment, I’d be honored to support you.
As a therapist, I am deeply passionate about guiding my clients towards growth and resilience. Together, we can work through the pain and unearth the strength within you.
About the therapist
Rosa Montez, LCSW
(hablo español)
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping others feel heard, seen, and supported. I believe in a collaborative therapeutic style relationship, where together I can help you identify feelings and patterns that may have been barrier in your life. Ultimately I will work you through a process which can allow you to heal from whatever has been a barrier for you or tormenting your mind.
After graduating from the University of Southern California in 2015 with a Masters in Social Work, I went into the social work field with an emphasis on specializing in mental health. For the last ten years, I have worked in a variety of places in the valley which has added to my unique experience and helps me understand where my clients are no matter what stage of life they find themselves in.
I love being a therapist. I understand the struggle it takes to want better for ourselves. I understand the vulnerability and courage that it requires to open up about life and experiences. I believe vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness and it’s necessary to heal. I work from a place of honesty, transparency, and compassion. I’m excited to get to know you and be of help on your healing journey!
