Trauma can feel like:

  • Feeling angry

  • Feeling confused

  • Experiencing feelings of guilt, shame and self-blame

  • Replaying memories over and over in your head

  • Experiencing flashbacks

  • Avoiding or making efforts to avoid distressing memories, thoughts, or feelings about traumatic event or situation

  • Avoiding people, places, conversations, activities, objects, situations that may bring up feelings, memories or thoughts about the situation.

  • Experiencing feelings of tension, fatigue, fear when thinking about a particular memory and situation.

  • Thinking negatively about yourself

  • Being Hypervigilant, feelings of paranoia

  • Problems with concentration

  • Trouble going to sleep and/or staying asleep
